FRENCH VOGUE BLACK FACE MOCKERY OR ART??

There has been a bit of controversy sounding the photographs pictured below.. Apparently this is supposed to show that Lara Stone does not fit the anorexic model mode (size 4 WOW) but what about the black face.. I remember there was a time in history when they did not want black models in around, by, or even close to the production of Vogue for fear they might put their blackness on it.. and Now we have models in brownface.. like WTF is this.. not artistic in any sense.. Why couldn't they save the make up and go get some black girls if it was that serious.. leave your thoughts guys because i am completely flabbergasted by this one..
